Overview
The Charles O. Strickler Transplant Center provides kidney, pancreas, liver, islet cells, heart and lung transplant services for adults and children. We offer field clinics in Roanoke and Winchester.
UVA’s transplant program combines more than 40 years of experience with the latest research and technologies. Our research has received international acclaim and has shaped how other transplant programs around the world care for their patients.
We also offer pulmonary function testing.

Parking
Free with validation, using your parking ticket when you register at your appointment. Use the Lee Street and 11th Street parking garages.
Patients can be dropped off in front of the West Complex off Jefferson Park Avenue.

Patient Information
What to Expect At Your First Visit
At your first visit you’ll learn what to expect during and after your transplant.
This information is important for both you and whoever will be helping to care for you after the transplant, so you should bring them with you.
You’ll also meet with your transplant evaluation team. Your team will be able to answer any questions you may have.
We may also schedule you for additional lab work or X-rays at this first visit.
You should plan on being in the transplant clinic for two to four hours.
What to Bring With You
- Your insurance cards
- A list of medications you're taking
- At least one primary care partner (usually a family member or close friend)
- Any medical records that haven't already been sent by your doctor
Your Transplant Team
You’ll have a team of doctors, transplant coordinators, social workers, financial counselors and others working with you to make sure you receive the best care possible.

Pulmonary Function Testing Lab
Patients can also schedule their pulmonary function testing lab on site to help diagnoses and treats patients with respiratory diseases in room #4152. Call to schedule an appointment.
